Director, FIG Investment Banking, Consumer Finance

This role is for a senior banker on the Consumer Finance team within Capital Ones Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The individual will be responsible for relationship management, new business development, coverage, pitching, and deal execution. Applicants should have an entrepreneurial mindset and be able to manage external relationships, internal deal teams, and senior business leaders.

Additionally, the candidate will play a leadership role across deal teams, guiding and shaping more junior associates, and work with crossfunctional teams within FIG.

Responsibilities

• New business development and ongoing relationship management in the broader consumer finance industry
• Work with the leadership team to develop opportunity sets and potential growth areas
• Nurture and expand strong internal and external relationships, both new and existing
• Advise companies independently or with a small team on lending, capital markets, and other services
• Manage deal execution autonomously (origination, structuring, cashflow modeling, diligence, negotiation, approval, and legal documentation)
• Lead due diligence, assess industry research, and draw conclusions on strengths, risks, and mitigants
• Assist less experienced team members in financial analysis and deal structuring
• Prepare and review financial and pricing models independently
• Collaborate with underwriting, legal, and credit partners on term sheets and document negotiation
• Drive overall deal process and communication with internal and external constituents, improving processes
• Build relationships to foster collaboration across partner groups
• Interact directly with customers to cultivate strong relationships while balancing risk and return
• Mentor and train rotational analysts and new hires
• Participate in internal initiatives for efficient business operation

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent military experience
• At least 5 years of experience in Relationship Management
• At least 7 years of experience working with Lender Finance
• At least 7 years of experience working with Financial Institutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree and/or CFA
• At least 10 years of experience in Capital Markets and AssetBacked Securitization (ABS)
• Completion of a formal credit training program
• FINRA Licenses: Series7,63,69

Salary Chicago, IL: $205,400$234,400; McLean, VA: $226,000$257,900; NewYork, NY: $246,500$281,300. Salary ranges are for fulltime positions in the listed locations and are subject to change.

In addition to base salary, the role is eligible for performancebased incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or longterm incentives (LTI).
